The Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey MP, has announced more projects have been awarded funding in the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.
Mrs Pavey said the Fund is part of the NSW Government’s community infrastructure investment program in regional NSW.
“The Fund received hundreds of applications for valuable amenity projects from across the State, and I know that these type of projects will provide a lasting community asset.”
Projects in the Oxley electorate awarded funding in Tranche C of Round 1:
|Bellingen Shire Council||Bellingen Community Precinct Project||$885,718|
|Kempsey Shire Council||Clyde Street Revitalisation of Car Park & Toilet Facilities||$225,000|
|Kempsey Shire Council||Horseshoe Bay Master Plan – Coastal Pedestrian Walkway Extension||$357,960|
|Kempsey Shire Council||Gladstone Memorial Park Precinct – New Playground & Toilet Block||$175,000|
|Kempsey Shire Council||Crescent Head CBD Toilets||$175,000|
“This funding stream comes as the Government announces the opening of a modified Round Two of the Stronger Country Communities Fund,” Mrs Pavey said.
“After an unprecedented demand for funding in Round One, an additional $100 million for local sports infrastructure has been committed for Round Two. This means a total of $200 million will be available in Round Two for local sports and amenity projects – in the one program.”
“Other changes have been made to make applications easier and increase the scope of eligible projects.
“As such, I urge local community groups and councils to identify potential projects and test them against the Fund’s eligibility criteria, then submit those applications.”
Applications under Round Two close at 5pm on Friday May 4, 2018.
